Your Glaven Day

All aboard! The Glaven bus picks you up from your home and will pick up more clients on the way to The Glaven Centre in Blakeney. Here you will be greeted by our nurses and carers.

Tea, coffee and biscuits are waiting, and we settle down to a morning of activities in our comfortable sitting room. There is lots to do – quizzes, puzzles, arts and crafts. You can have an assisted bath or have a haircut. Our foot care clinic is also open once a week.

Lunch in the dining room is a delicious homemade, hot meal made with local produce, and is always topped off with a pudding!
Eating together is good for mind, body and soul. On sunny days we fire up the barbeque in the garden.

Afternoon trips might include a visit to the Quay for an ice cream and a breath of fresh air. At 3.00pm we say our goodbyes and set off home on the Glaven bus with a volunteer who will see you safely through your door.

“My husband Paul has been attending The Glaven since January. Paul is 65 and lives with Parkinson’s and dementia. Glaven Caring has been an absolute lifeline to us. Paul is very settled and looks forward to his two days a week which  means I can continue to care for my husband at home.”
