GLAVEN CARING is a voluntary organisation which provides extra care and comfort, as well as medical and personal services, to the elderly and frail of our community. The Glaven Centre is based in Blakeney, and provides services to the surrounding villages and the town of Holt.
We Need Your Help Too!
We help ourselves as much as we can, but we also are very fortunate to have a team of locally based volunteers to help us. Each bring their own skills – from driving our buses, helping lay up for lunches, talking to our visitors, fundraising activities – even helping in our garden. We are always in need of more volunteers.
Can you help?
Would you like to drive the mini-bus or assist on board? Some of our volunteers use their own cars to bring clients to the centre, which is incredibly helpful. Volunteers in the centre help with to serving lunches and refreshments, and talking with our clients. Some help with the nursing services and bathing and in-house training is provided. A few hours a month given is a very valuable contribution and the rewards are surprisingly positive – see Lisa’s story in News. Please do get in touch if you would like to help us: 01263 740762.
Another way that you can help is financially, whether by donation, a gift, a bequest, a covenant or a Gift Aid payment. Our community has been constant with support but, as services expand, costs rise and although financially sound, we will only remain so if this support continues.
